The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre

Marmalade won a recent pitch for the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, to redesign its existing corporate website.

Following an in-depth process Marmalade was chosen to design the site, and has worked closely with Commercial Director - Jonathan Byrne to create a new, visually striking site that will engage users and create distinct journey paths for all viewers of the site.

Replacing the existing site with a striking design, using a new, bright colour palette and a distinctive mix of illustration and photography, we have aimed to create a unique and bold design which meets the clients specific project requirements.

Initial Discussions:

Marmalade approached a colleague at trade show some months before we started a search for a new web site supplier and digital marketing partner. I had well established and successful relationships with two other potential suppliers so Marmalade’s initial inclusion was to satisfy the principles of fair competition by gaining three quotes; however the Marmalade Team impressed the QEIICC marketing team from the beginning via:

  • Communicating a clear, comprehensive and credible understanding of the requirements for effective digital marketing and web site.
  • Imaginative and engaging design concepts.
  • A communication style and flexibility that indicated they would be effective business partners.

Selection:
Marmalade provided the most comprehensive, inclusive (no extra costs likely to arise as the project develops – unless our requirements changed) and best value for money quote. Our Marketing Team prepared a spreadsheet rating all quotes on a like for like basis (both financially and scoring for creativity etc) giving Marmalade the highest rating score.
Specification to completion:
The completed site achieves everything we required and Marmalade were pro-active in suggesting developments and amendments to our specification and solutions to achieve our aspirations along the way. The new site has not yet gone live as we have a large volume of content to update before we publish the new site.

Working relationship:
The success of the web site development has led to Marmalade becoming our digital marketing supplier. They are also stimulating, fun and engaging to work with."
