World Cup in The Jar

So, its here at last - the waiting is over, the 2010 World Cup is upon us. We don't know about you, but we're all more excited than a bag full of puppies.

To celebrate the World Cup, and to help you all pick a team for the office sweepstake, we've created this nifty sweepstake generator. Simply enter the names of all the people in your office/class/prison cell, and then the generator will automatically allocate the 32 teams equally amongst all players. If there's any left over, they go into the 'wild card', its up to you what you do with those!

Charity begins at Marmalade

We are pleased to say we're working with a number of excellent charities at the moment, and have made a real effort in the last 12 months to try and 'put something back'.

We recently launched a brand, spanking new website for the Victory Services Club in London, working closely with their wonderful Marketing Manager, Jill Quick. More on this later with a full case study to follow.

We're also creating all of the branding, tickets, posters and programmes for MacMillan's Parliamentary Palace of Varities.

Finally we're working with a local charity, based in Winchester. We're helping The Public Service Broadcasting Trust to launch an updated version of their ITV Fixers site. Watch this space!

Team Marmalade get dirty!

Ah, the new year! Full of expectation and promise. And as the team gathers again from the far flung corners of the UK, we not only look forward to 2010, but take a sneaky peak over our (slightly well plumped) shoulders at 2009. In particular the Christmas party!

We had a great day out, some of the team took out some quad bikes, then had a tactically challenging paintball smash-up, which was dirty, funny, painful and downright brilliant.

A massive thanks to all at Marwell Activity Centre for a great day out.

The evening saw everyone meet up for a top notch nosh up at The Chesil Rectory in Winchester, for a wonderful night of food, wine and banter. It was truly a wonderful evening, topped off by the awards ceremony, which saw such prestigious prizes as "Top Snorer of the Year' (Syd), Part Timer of the Year (Pete), Schmoozer of the Year (Christian), Email of the Year (Jenny), Top Content Writer (Sophie), The Delia Award (Rebecca) and my favourite, Strange Eater of the Year (Paul). Again thanks to everyone at the restaurant - great food and service.

Christmas is quickly approaching, and so our studio will soon be closing for the holiday period. But before we close we have designed one last visual delight ;)

It has been a very successful year for us in The Jar. We would like to thank all of you for helping us have such a wonderful year. We very much look forward to working with you come 2010!

Every year the web gets one year older (believe it or not!). The technology improves, the design trends change. What will we see in 2010? With a new decade beginning, I am sure we will see different design ideas. Web users will become more confident. Websites will become even easier to use. Hopefully we will win more awards for our web design and digital marketing ;).

Marmalade takes on prostate cancer

You may have heard of Movember – an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer.

We have signed up for Movember, and will be growing our Mo’s all month in support of the charity. Yes we’ll look stupid, yes we’ll get embarrassed at meetings, but we feel its worth it.
