Places to gather inspiration

Designers are always looking for inspiration for their designs. Here we list some great places on the internet to gather inspiration for great design.

Element collections

Here are few places which just have elements of design for inspiration. They are both brilliant collections.

Pattern Tap

Pattern Tap

We find Pattern Tap very useful, it sorts elements into different areas of a site. It has selections for elements such as, breadcrumbs, borders, buttons and the like.

An Amazing Flickr Collection

Flickr Collection

A great guy known as guspim has made a collection of design elements for all to view on flickr.

Social Media / Bookmarking

Here at Marmalade, we love social media, and we find a lot of inspiration from various social sites, to find out what everyone is talking about. The main ones we use for inspiration are:

CSS Galleries

There are far too many css galleries on the web, some of them are good, and some of them are extremely useless. However most of them are good for a quick visit every now and then.

Let me google that for you

Other designers and blogs

Finally, one of the main things we do in #theJar is look at other trends happening on the web. Of course following the crowd will never make you stand out, but it makes sure you aren't missing a trick!

Fubiz

Webdesigner Depot

Inspired Magazine

Pattern Head

Smashing Magazine

We hope you have found this post helpful. If you use any other sites for inspiration, please leave them in the comments.
